Christmas!

Christmas was so awesome this year! We had such a great time with our families and brinklee!! Christmas Eve we had a little get together with the Palmer family and opened some presents. That night we went to ligori's for pizza and came back to open pajamas from Santa. Christmas morning brink and I got up around 6:30 and waited for Jared to wake up. Once he got up we opened presents and got ready for the day. Brink got tons of clothes, toys, books and movies. Jared and I got clothes and other fun things. We all got ready and went over to grandma stokes. We had breakfast over there and opened gifts. That night we went out to my parents for a yummy prime rib dinner and more presents. It was a great day spent with people we love!!

Big changes in our family!

We have had some big changes in the past month! It has probably been the craziest most stressful month of our lives and I'm glad it's over! First off brinklee is getting so big!! She is rolling and scooting everywhere! She is eating baby food and she loves it!! Next Jared was offered a full time job with lithotripsy. He's been working part time since February and they recently bought a new machine and took him on full time! He works for 9 urologists from Layton to west valley and does whatever cases they have for him. He is loving it! Next I graduated again. I finished up my bachelors in nursing at weber! It feels so good to be done!! And last and probably biggest of all we sold our house and bought a brand new home! It was sad to leave our cute little house but I love our new house! Life has been crazy but we love it!!

Gardners Village

Every year we go to Gardners Village to see the witches. I was so excited this year to be able to bring Brinklee. I dressed her in her cute Halloween outfit and we went down with my parents and sisters. Brink was spoiled by her Papa who got her some lace leggings and her Nana who got her some cute Halloween socks. We walked around the village and went to the quilt store for some cute new projects. We had so much fun and are looking forward to it next year!!

Brinklee at 3 months

My sweet girl is now three months old (well a couple weeks ago)!! She is getting way too big too fast! She is such a sweetheart and we love her so much!! At 3 months she is:
*Eating 4-6 ounces of formula every 3 hours
*Wearing size 1/2 diapers and size 3-6 month clothes
* Rolls over from her back to her belly but then is pissed that she is on her belly
*Coos and talks all the time!
*Sleeps from about 9pm until 7 or 8am in the morning! (LOVE that!!)
*Takes little half hour cap naps during the day and once in awhile takes a couple hour nap but not often
*Spends Wednesdays with Nana Thornley, any other day during the week with Aunt Darcie and the weekends with dad.
*Is super happy during the morning and gets more upset at night.
*Loves watching Dora the explorer and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
*Is losing her hair and it is getting lighter
She is the best baby and we love having her!!

Brinklee's blessing day

Yesterday October 14 brinklee was blessed in our church by her dad! There were four other babies blessed that day but brink was the only girl! Jared gave her an amazing blessing! She was supported by so much family and friends!! My uncle Eric said he sneaked a peek at her during the blessing and he said he felt that she was looking at each and everyone in the circle. She's such an observant baby that I wouldn't doubt it!! My mom made her blessing dress and it turned out so gorgeous!! She brought back Italian lace from Italy this summer and that's what it was made out of! We had lunch after at grandma and grandpa stokes. It was such a beautiful day and we are so blessed to have beautiful brinklee in our lives!!

Is the sweetest baby who loves to be held!!

Brinklee's birth story

We went through quite the process to get our little brinklee here! My doctor had told me she'd start me at 39 weeks since she was measuring so big but at our 38 1/2 week appointment I was disappointed to find out I wasn't dilated or thinned and that she still hadn't dropped. Dr. Boheen said probably wouldn't be a successful induction if we went ahead with it and I was at a high risk for c section so we decided to wait it out another week. At our 39 1/2 week appointment we had the same news but after discussing it with her she was doubtful that another week would make a difference so she offered to go ahead with the induction. Jared and I decided it was our best option and went ahead with it that night. My dad came down and helped Jared give me a blessing. In his blessing he talked about the family that brinklee was with right now and that they were reluctant to send her down because of the time they were spending with her. I immediately thought of my grandma thornley and that she went before brinklee was here so that she could spend some time with her!
We got checked into the hospital at 7 that night and got hooked up to everything. I told my nurse what was going on and when she hooked me up and checked me she said I wasn't as high as she expected, I was dilated to a 1 and was having contractions every 3-5 minutes (I still wasn't feeling them because they weren't painful just felt like my belly was getting tight). I was started on cervidil and we were told to get some sleep because tomorrow was going to be a big day! Ha yeah right, sleep?? The next morning she took the cervidil out and said I was dilated to a two and having consistent contractions. My doctor came in and broke my water and they started me on pitocin. My contractions became more painful and I was able to get my epidural pretty soon after that. Throughout the day they increased my pitocin and when my doctor checked me at noon I was only a 3. We decided to keep waiting it out but they could only go to 30 on the pitocin and then it was maxed out. By 5pm I was still only about a three and brink still hadn't dropped. Dr. Boheen said I could still continue but chances were she wouldn't drop and there wasn't much more they could do since I was maxed out on pitocin. I asked them to leave the room for a bit so Jared and I could discuss what we were going to do. We decided to go ahead with the c section even though I was scared to death!! We told Boheen and the anesthesiologist and things went fast from there. They got Jared some clothes to change into for the or and then wheeled me back! They dosed my epidural stronger and got started. The anesthesiologist asked if I wanted to know when they had started cutting into me and I told him no. He said oh well they've already started! After a couple minutes dr Boheen said oh my heck look at those eyelashes!! It's not fair they're halfway down her cheeks!! Our little girl was born at 6:03pm! A couple minutes later the nurse held up a beautiful dark haired girl for me to see and then her and her daddy disappeared. They took her back to weigh her and I heard someone yell into the room 9lbs 3oz!! Holy cow! I knew she was gonna be big but didn't expect that!! They finished up with me and wheeled me back to my room to recover. We had called our families when we decided to go ahead with the c section but no one was there when I got back to the room and it made me nervous! Soon enough my dad and little sisters came into the room showing me pictures and telling me all about little brinklee. My doctor had said it would be fast and I would have my baby in my arms pretty soon after but I didn't get to see her for an hour and a half!! Apparently when our families came Jared would hold her up to the window so it took her awhile to get her warmed back up!! Finally Jared and the nursery nurse brought in our brinklee Kate all cleaned up with a bright orange bow in her hair! She was so sweet and perfect! We stayed two days in the hospital just because of my c section but went home as soon as we could! We had an excellent experience at Davis and was impressed to see the patients side of the hospital experience! Brinklee has been such a good baby and has me and Jared wrapped around her little finger!! We are so blessed to have her in our lives!!

Our sweet baby girl arrived July 11th at 6:03pm! She arrived via c section and weighed in at a whopping 9lbs 3oz and 21 1/2 inches long! She's doing great and we are so in love with her! Dark hair and long eyelashes! She's perfect!!

36 weeks seriously??

Pregnancy has flown by and in less than a month we will have our baby here!! We have been going to the doctor weekly now and she's getting to be a big woman!! Last Monday (with 5 weeks to go) she measured 6lbs 12oz!! My doctor suggested that I be induced at 39 weeks so I don't have a ten or eleven pound baby!!
How far along: 36 weeks!
Total weight gain: don't judge, 30 lbs!
Sleep: becoming more uncomfortable! She hates when I sleep on my left side which only leaves my right side and then my right hip hurts! I only have to get up once during the night to pee so that's nice! I think it's because I already have a nurses bladder!
Best moment this week: seeing her in the ultrasound, my doctor suggesting to start me early!! Getting all her stuff set up and ready to go, swing, bouncer, playpen, carseat, crib! We've had generous friends and family who have given us all this stuff!!
Miss anything: my normal sized ankles! They're huge by the time I get home!
Movement: constantly especially in my ribs!
Food cravings: everything
Anything make you queasy or sick: I've had acid reflux pretty bad and there are weird things that trigger it, mainly fruit and things with a lot of butter! Weird!
Symptoms: awful acid reflux! Hopefully that means she'll have lots of hair!!
Belly button in or out: out!
Biggest fear for the future: being unprepared for her arrival, getting everything ready, too many babies being born this summer so having to wait to be induced a couple days!! Here's a huge belly sitting by the pool last week! Can't wait to meet our little brink!!

Lava

Jared and I have been working a lot lately! We kept saying we needed a vacation even a one night get away. Well my parents asked us the other day if we had a day we could go help up to their property, so we got our schedules changed and went up for the night. It was so fun!! We set up our tent and then went on a little walk. Jo heard this deer and we were able to get close to the little guy. We walked down by the pond and then came back and cooked our tinfoil dinners. After dinner we went and relaxed in the hot pots. My parents came up the next day and we got a wood chipper and cleaned up some trees on the property! It was so fun and relaxing! So nice to get away!!

Mothers day

I really need to get more pictures updated because I have so much to blog about but for now I just want to brag about my hubby! I showed him
how I wanted the nursery and have been talking about what I wanted in there. Well he started working on the walls and ordered our crib. I worked mothers day and came home to this amazing scene! He finished the walls, set up the crib and bough me a glider!!! Oh my heck I love him so much! There's still a lot left to finish in there but it's starting to look amazing!!

Pregnant thoughts 29 weeks and other ramblings

Pregnancy is still going great! This week we have an appointment with another ultrasound and glucose tolerance test. Hopefully I pass!
How far along: 29 weeks
Total weight gain: haven't dared step on the scale lately so prob too much!
Sleep: for the most part pretty good! Not too uncomfortable yet thank goodness!
Best moment this week: this was a couple weeks ago but we were getting an ultrasound and the tech said look at the screen. What's your baby doing with her hands? I thought she was saying rock on and Jared thought she was hanging loose Hawaii. No! She's saying I love you in sign language!! Aww.. Cutest thing ever!
Miss anything? Nope
Movement: constant throughout the day! On Easter we were taking a nap and we could just see my belly bouncing so Jared would press down and she would kick do hard!! It was so fun to watch her play with her dad!!
Food cravings? Still anything and everything!
Anything make you queasy or sick? Sometimes at work certain odors from patients get to me but for the most part no.
Symptoms: growing belly
Belly button in or out? Still in but closer to coming out!
Biggest fear for the future: getting everything ready for her and of course her health!
These last couple weeks have been a little difficult! We have been so busy with finishing up school! My grandma thornley passed away right before Easter and even though we knew it was coming it was hard! My grandpa has been gone almost 18 years and she's missed him so much! She's had Alzheimer's so she was to the point she couldn't remember out names but you always think your grandparents will be around forever! I was excited because grandma was going to have 3 new great grand kids within 2 months of each other this summer but I know she's up counseling them and preparing them to come to our family! I was scheduled to take my boards when she passed away so was stressed about not passing them since there was so much on my mind that week. I took them Tuesday morning, went to her viewing Tuesday night, and funeral wednesday. I was so stressed that I hadn't passed but paid Thursday morning to get my quick results and found out I did!! Jared had left to take his rad tech boards that morning so when he called I shared my good news and he had some of his own.. He passed too!! It's been such a long road but we are so glad to be at this point in our lives!!
I went and checked out city creek center with my family! Such a pretty place! My dad is just a goof and I always laugh when I'm around them!! I am done with my first semester of the bachelors program and am so excited I have the summer off to play and get ready for the baby! Have to throw in a pic of mylittle jo! She loves the ranger! So much going on in our busy lives!!

Pregnant thoughts 25 weeks

I have been awful at keeping my blog updated and recording my pregnancy!! Things have been going great so I wanted to post what has been up thus far into my pregnancy! Saw this on another blog so I'm stealing it!
How far along? 25 weeks!!
Total weight gain: 10 pounds
Sleep: usually wake up early in the morning to pee and sleep decent still. I roll around a lot to get comfortable but haven't been too uncomfortable yet!
Best moment this week: feeling her move daily!!
Miss anything? My flat stomach but I know it's just going to get bigger! Sometimes miss sushi
Movement? She moves the most when I'm trying to fall asleep. I felt her moving a ton at work the other day too!
Food cravings? Anything and everything! I feel like my appetite is out of control lately!
Anything make you queasy or sick? Taking my prenatals makes me a little gaggy still.
Symptoms? Rounded belly!
Belly button in or out? In for now but Jared keeps telling me it's just a matter of time before it pops out!!
Biggest fear for the future: her coming too early, needing a c-section, getting everything ready, having the money to buy everything, her health!
Honestly everything is going great! Our baby is super active and growing right on schedule (along with her momma) I really haven't been sick or tired lately but am feeling more stress to finish out this semester and get ready for her! We are so excited for our baby girl!!

The cat is out of the bag..

So Jared and I are excited to finally announce that we are having a baby! We had been talking about when we were going to have kids and we decided we needed to wait until I was done with school. Well I was having a hard time convincing Jared that it was time until his sister Darcie said they were going to start trying for another. After I heard that this was my conversation with Jared:
Me: "Jare, Darcie and Mont are going to have another kid so if we want our kids to have cousins the same age then we need to start trying."
Jared: "Ok."
Me: (seriously it was that easy the whole time??)
We found out the beginning of November that we were expecting but wanted to tell our families after our first doctors appointment. I had my first appointment and then graduated the next day. We made little cards for our parents with a picture of our ultrasound that said: "Card $0.36, envelope $0.05, the look on your face when you see your grandbaby for the first time...PRICELESS! Baby Stokes arriving July 2012." We gave these cards to our moms as we were leaving the Dee events center. My mom stopped to open hers and Billie kept walking. Jared finally had to stop his mom and tell her to open it and when they did we were all in tears. Everyone probably thought we were being ridiculous bawling at a graduation.
Everything has been going great! I haven't been too sick and my doctor says the baby is looking great. She told us today that we were having a little girl. Jared suspected it all along but I thought it was a boy. We are so excited! A little girl is going to be so fun! We thought we were 16 weeks today but our doctor said she is measuring 17 weeks- which is awesome! Anyways we cannot wait for this phase in our lives! I know it will be hard and a complete change but we welcome change!

End of the year happenings!

November we threw a shower for my sister in law Ali and her little guy.

Jared turned 24. For his birthday he wanted to go out and shoot his swan. He took his pup and had a great time.

Jared loves his Wige!

We went to Wendover on the fun bus with the Buehlers and the Boultons. I was some drunk guys good luck charm and he gave me $100 and then I won another 60 so we came out ahead!

We had cake and ice cream to celebrate.

All of the sisters at Abby's madrigal dinner

I graduated with my RN. My parents, in laws, little sisters and husband went to my graduation and then I snuck out early to go Maddox.

We went down and saw the lights at temple square with some friends from the ward The Webb's. We went to dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory and then walked around. It was such a fun night!

We hosted our second annual ugly sweater party. We had our families over for pizza, games and the ugly sweater contest.

Cami just had her wisdom teeth out so she was trying to not look so swollen!

Christmas eve Jared and I both worked at the hospital. Christmas morning we got up opened some presents and went over to grandma Stokes'. We had breakfast and opened presents. We then went out to my parents for dinner and presents. I was supposed to work Christmas night but was so sick and had to call in. My sweet husband was so good to me! I just love him!!

December 29th we got a new nephew. He is the first grandkid on the Thornley side so my parents were super excited. He is so so cute and has got tons of reddish hair!
